Alicia Vales, M.S., CRC

Clinical Research Coordinator

Alicia is a Clinical Research Coordinator at Covenant, where she ensures patient safety, protocol adherence, and regulatory compliance across a variety of trials. Her responsibilities include managing study visits, verifying assessments are completed accurately, collecting lab specimens, and ensuring timely submission of any study deviations. Her work plays a vital role in the integrity and success of each trial.

Alicia was born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Conroe and Crockett before moving to Colorado. She earned her B.S. in Biological Sciences from Mesa State College and her M.S. in Biomedical Sciences from Colorado State University. Before joining Covenant, she held diverse roles including CNA in assisted living, ER Registrar, Medical Scribe, and administrative positions in dermatology, OBGYN, and ophthalmology. These experiences gave her a strong foundation in patient care, charting, medical terminology, and communication – skills she uses daily in clinical research.

She began her journey with Covenant in 2021 as the Office Administrator at the Fort Myers location. Over time, she advanced to Laboratory Technician and now serves as Clinical Research Coordinator. Alicia is currently preparing for the Certified Clinical Research Professional exam. What motivates her most is seeing the tangible health improvements in her patients and knowing that their participation will help shape better treatments for generations to come.

Outside of work, Alicia and her husband are in the process of adopting a child from Honduras – a journey close to their hearts. She is a proud first-generation college graduate and, as the youngest of four with three older brothers, the only one in her family to hold a graduate degree.
