Claudia Torres

Clinical Research Coordinator

Claudia is a bilingual Clinical Research Coordinator, fluent in both English and Spanish, who brings a unique blend of clinical, medical, and life experience to her role. Born in New York City to Nicaraguan immigrants, she is a proud first-generation American who has built a career rooted in compassion, discipline, and strength. Claudia is a certified Medical Assistant with BLS and ACLS CPR certifications and has completed college coursework toward a degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Her professional journey began in pediatric and adult hematology/oncology and immunology, where she provided direct patient care and supported families through challenging treatments. She also served as a Correctional Officer for 16 years––a role that strengthened her leadership, conflict management, and decision-making skills under pressure. Those experiences have been pivotal in shaping her calm, organized, and resilient approach to clinical research.

Claudia joined Covenant as a Research Assistant, then was promoted to Lead Research Assistant, and now serves as a Clinical Research Coordinator. In this role, she manages trial participants, monitors health outcomes, and ensures strict adherence to protocol to support the advancement of meaningful new therapies. She is committed to growing her knowledge in clinical research, taking on increasingly complex studies, and eventually stepping into a leadership role where she can guide and mentor others.

Outside of work, Claudia is known for her goofy, light-hearted spirit and loves spending time with her family––especially cooking together or traveling to explore new places. She believes that staying kind, grounded, and joyful is just as important as working hard and making a difference in people's lives.
