Erin Gennocro, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC
Sub Investigator
Erin is a Sub Investigator at Covenant Metabolic Specialists. Originally from Goshen, Indiana, she earned her MSN/FNP from Valparaiso University and later completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Florida State University. Erin began her career in pediatric primary and urgent care, where she developed a strong foundation in preventative health, patient education, and chronic disease management—skills that continue to inform her approach to clinical research and complex metabolic care.
At Covenant, Erin supports clinical trials by performing patient evaluations, conducting physical exams, reviewing eligibility, and ensuring protocol compliance across studies. She plays a key role in promoting patient safety and retention through personalized support and education. Erin is especially proud to contribute to a collaborative team environment that emphasizes quality, accuracy, and compassionate care. She takes pride in helping ensure the success of each study through careful screening, detailed protocol adherence, and a strong focus on patient education and experience.
Her passion for clinical research was sparked during her years in pediatrics, where she witnessed the long-term consequences of childhood obesity. This interest deepened during her doctoral work, which focused on improving obesity management in primary care. Today, she is especially focused on advancing early intervention and prevention strategies in metabolic and liver disease—areas she sees as critical to improving long-term outcomes. Erin is motivated by the opportunity to contribute to research that leads to real, lasting improvements in patient care, both now and in the future.
Outside of work, Erin is an avid pickleball player who takes the court whenever she can—often alongside her husband and son. What began as a fun pastime during the COVID-19 pandemic has grown into a full-fledged obsession (her paddle travels with her everywhere she goes). Erin is also proud to be the first healthcare professional in her family—a milestone that reflects her dedication to improving lives through evidence-based care.
