Jovanna (Jojo) is the Liver Scan Specialist at Covenant, where she assists with new patient referrals, evaluates liver health through the Liver Clinic, and schedules screening appointments for ongoing research studies. In this role, she helps determine the best treatment options for patients and supports their care journey by combining data analysis with compassionate education.

A Florida native, Jojo is fluent in both English and Spanish and holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of South Florida, Sarasota-Manatee, along with a Master of Medical Science (MMS) degree from LECOM-Bradenton. She began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a long-term care and rehab facility, where she first discovered her passion for patient care. She joined Covenant as a Research Assistant, focusing on patient interactions and study support for two years before returning to school. In 2024, she came back to Covenant in a new capacity – ready to apply her expanded medical knowledge in a more specialized role.

Jojo is currently preparing to apply to medical school, building on her strong foundation in both clinical and research settings. She's deeply motivated by the chance to educate patients on liver disease and provide access to research-driven treatment options that can significantly improve metabolic health.

Outside of work, Jojo lives with her three pet huskies – a full family including mom, dad, and one of their seven puppies. As a first-generation college graduate, she's proud of the path she's paved for herself and is excited for what comes next in her medical journey.
