Kirsten is a Research Assistant at Covenant, where she supports clinical trials by gathering medical histories, collecting qualifying data, performing scans and handling key administrative and organizational tasks. Before joining Covenant, she worked as a Medical Assistant with a local ENT specialist – an experience that expanded her knowledge, strengthened her communication skills, and shaped her patient-centered approach to care.

Kirsten was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, and is fluent in English. While living there, she also studied Afrikaans, Southern Sotho, and Zulu. She earned her B.S. in Biological Sciences with a minor in Healthcare Administration from Florida Atlantic University and is CPR/AED certified. She is currently applying to medical school with the goal of pursuing a surgical specialty.

What motivates Kirsten most is being part of a team that values trust, empathy, and long-term care for the community. She finds it deeply rewarding to work in a setting focused on meaningful, patient-centered research that contributes to better health outcomes.

Outside of work, Kirsten competes in competitive triathlons with the goal of completing an Ironman. She also plans to buy and race a Spec Miata alongside her dad and brother. Her drive for both speed and endurance reflects the same determination she brings to her work in healthcare.
