Kyle Cemel
Research Assistant
Kyle is a Research Assistant at Covenant, where his day-to-day responsibilities include processing patient labs, preparing and shipping pathology slides, ordering lab supplies, taking vitals, completing FibroScans, and managing EDC entry – among many other duties that support the research process. With a detail-oriented approach and strong interpersonal skills, Kyle plays a key role in ensuring clinical trials run smoothly and efficiently.
Originally born in Burlington, Vermont, Kyle has spent the past 20 years in Fort Myers. He holds a B.S. in Health Science from the University of South Florida and has completed certifications in CITI Good Clinical Practice and IATA 1.5, covering the shipping of both Category A infectious substances and Category B biological substances. Prior to joining Covenant, Kyle worked in retail as a Sales Associate, a role that sharpened his communication and people skills. Although he originally set out to become a physician assistant, discovering Covenant sparked a new interest in clinical research and its potential to impact patient care.
Kyle is motivated by the opportunity to witness how research directly contributes to better treatment options and health outcomes for patients. He is passionate about deepening his understanding of the research process and plans to use this experience as a foundation for a future career in the medical field.
Outside of work, Kyle is full of surprises. He's currently training to walk the Long Trail – a 272-mile footpath that spans the entire state of Vermont. A proud supporter of the Montreal Canadiens (Go HABS!), Kyle also has a rich family history: his ancestry traces back to William Brewster, a passenger on the Mayflower. He's especially proud to be the first individual in his family to earn a bachelor's degree.
